This stoneware fish Vase was made in my studio in the mountains of Colorado.
First, I throw this vase on the wheel. Next I sketch a drawing of the fish, each drawing is one of a kind. Then I apply light washes of underglaze color. I apply black underglaze to surrounding areas. Then I use a sharp tool to complete the sgraffito work. This piece was fired in a soda kiln. I love drawing these fish on my pottery. I love to scuba dive and have used my fish observations as studies for my fish drawings.
Glazed on the inside to hold cut flowers.
It is about 5.5 tall and 4.5" wide,
Unique Art Nouveau vase.
It is microwave and dishwasher safe.
