I made this stoneware bird utensil mug, pottery , in my studio in the mountains of Colorado.
First, I throw the vase on the wheel. Next I sketch a drawing of the bird then apply light washes of
color. I apply black underglaze to surrounding areas. Then I use a sharp tool to complete the sgraffito work. This piece was fired in a soda kiln.
This pottery jar is about 6.5 and 5" wide,
It is microwave and dishwasher safe.
Great gift for fishermen or fish lovers.
Made with lead free food safe pottery glazes.
