This stoneware fish coffee mug was made in my studio in the mountains of Colorado.
First, I throw the mug on the wheel. Once slightly dry, I add the handle. Next I sketch a drawing of the fish, then apply light washes of underglaze color. I apply black underglaze to surrounding areas. Then I use a sharp tool to complete the sgraffito work. This piece was fired in a soda kiln.
It is about 4 tall and 2.75 wide, holds approximately 10 of liquid.
It is microwave and dishwasher safe.due to the nature of handmade you will get a mug very similar to this.
Great gift for fishermen or fish lovers, great gift for Father's Day.
If you are sending pottery to someone as a gift I can include a note or card in the package. Just let me know what you would like the note or card to say in the" note to seller" section of your order.
